Polaron 2016 delivers the same robust yet flexible workflow control our customers know and love for Documents and Work Items. Start with pre-defined workflows in Polarion's project templates, and customize as needed to support your own test management process. What's more, any Test Run workflow action can optionally require the user to log a U.S. 21 CFR Part 11 compliant electronic signature. It doesn't stop there: you can also require e-signatures for every executed test case… including those executed externally to Polarion.
When your create a new Test Run, the underlying page is now implemented using our recently introduced Pages technology. Now there's no need to know Classic Wiki syntax to customize Test Run pages…. and there's a bonus: a new set of LiveReport Widgets that render Test Run information on any LiveReport page you create. Test managers can quickly and easily create Test Run pages enabling testers to execute tests without granting access to everything in the Test Run. And creating reports with test records from Test Runs is a snap.
You've asked for it, and now it's here: you can merge Work Item's in one LiveDoc document with another document via an easy graphical interface. Smart merge actions let you merge in either direction, but limit you to what makes sense in the context… so you can't get it wrong. Merging from a branched document back to the master (a common use case) has never been easier. Merge Work Items between any two compared Documents… even across projects.
We introduced the PostgreSQL database engine in new installations during the 2015 release cycle, replacing the previous H2 database. PostgreSQL has proven to better meet the needs of our Enterprise customers in terms of stability and performance. Consequently, we're updating existing customers' systems to PostgreSQL with this release. The update is seamless and automatic on both Linux and Windows. Have your admins check out the Configuration.txt file bundled with the update distributions for important pre-update info.
You can download the Polarion installer distributions from our product download pages. Downloads now include a built-in 30-day evaluation option, so it’s easy to try the new release in a sandbox environment before updating your production installation.
Polarion customers who have a current maintenance subscription are eligible to update to version 2016 free of charge. You can use your License Key Code for Polarion version 2015 (format like: POL-12321-AB34-GFG8767-H86HK) to activate Polarion 2016… no need to request a new license key.
