Polarion ALM Custom Configuration: ALM Easy-Start

When installed into the Polarion ALM platform, this custom configuration takes users right to the integrated Wiki on first login (as opposed to the Overview dashboard with the default configuration). The Wiki provides some helpful tips and info for getting started with Polarion ALM.

NOTE: This information applies to Polarion ALM version 3.1.2 only. Later versions are "wiki-centric" by design. If you are still using v. 3.1.2 it is recommended that you update your system to the latest version rather than installing this configuration.

Example Project Template

The configuration also installs a custom project template that you can use to create projects that also start users out at the Wiki. You may or may not want this for production projects, but for evaluation and exploration of the product, you can find it quite useful because you can start people off with guiding info on your project Wikis.

The Easy Start Configuration also customizes the user-adjustable interface (a.k.a. "Hats") to simplify things for those who are new to the Polarion ALM platform.

Prerequisites

• An installation of Polarion ALM version 3.1.2.
• Adobe Acrobat Reader (to read documentation)
• Unzip tool to extract the distribution
• A Subversion client (optional - you can use the command line)
