Software Development

Position:

Senior Developer, Team Leader Prague Team

Scope of the position

Reporting to the VP R&D, the Team Leader will be responsible for all aspects of the Prague office team. These will include day-to-day management of the Polarion personnel from R&D, Support/IT and QA.

Personal Skills
  • The person should have excellent communicative skills, be able to motivate team members, resolve possible conflicts, be able to take decision on personnel
  • Should accept responsibility for given tasks, subordinated teams and processes
  • Have good overview of modern technologies and possibility to define concepts for further development.
  • Have good understanding and practical experience in modern development processes, like XP or Scrum (Scrum Master experience is a plus)
  • Be good Java Developer with practical experience of Server-side application development (High-availability/scalability application development is plus)
  • Excellent (better native) Czech
  • Fluent spoken/written English (German is plus)
Personal Responsibilities
  • Set objectives and targets after consolidation with the VP R&D
  • Drive and motivate the team toward achievement of the objectives
  • Monitor and review the results and implement improvements
  • Single contact person for administrative and office management purpose
  • Monitoring work time of developers (presence, commitment to the team work, etc.), ensuring communication of team members on absence time and proper reporting of time-off and vacations.
  • Leading and Synchronization of the teams (in case of QA, IT, Support or Dev need help from other side, he should be the person to take the final decision).
  • Ensuring effective load of the team (all the people know what to do all the time and the TL knows that the plans are actual)
  • Collect information and rise up points to hire new personnel, or to terminate relationship with existing team members. Interview of candidates and making selection for approval with VP R&D.
  • Ensuring availability of people in the core time for most efficient communication.
  • Leading by example for others
  • Regular review of the team members
Technical and administrative Requirements
  • Have at least 1 year of practical experience with management of teams of 10-20 people.
  • Have practical experience of SCRUM (Scrum Master experience is a plus)
  • Have good knowledge and experience of modern technologies and trends
  • Have good knowledge if Open Source Projects
  • Practical knowledge of following areas:
    • JSE, JEE, Server-side development
    • WebServices, XML, XSL, JavaScripts
    • Versioning systems (SVN, ...)
    • Windows, Linux on administrative level.
    • Eclipse-based development tools
    • Wiki at least as active user
  • As plus will be considered:
    • Experience with Requirements Management Tools (e.g. DOORS, Caliber RM, etc.)
    • Google applications/technologies (Docs, Waves, Mail, GWT, Application Engine, BigTable, etc.)
    • RDBMS experience
    • UI design/usability experience
    • UI technologies (Ruby, GWT, PHP, etc.)
    • Social networking programming knowledge
    • Apache technology experience (Maven, Tomcat, Lucene, POI, etc.)
    • Experience with testing/profiling frameworks
    • Experience with hosted solutions, including Cloud
    • Experience with license management
    • Experience with internationalization of web-based applications

requirements:

You help our customers to setup Subversion and Polarion solutions built atop Subversion in existing environments. Creation, adjustment and delivery of training programs for Subversion and Polarion. Process coaching in the different ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) disciplines in context of Polarion role-outs.

Zuständigkeit Als ALM-Consultant sind Sie verantwortlich für die Pre- und Post-Sales Aktivitäten rund um die Polarion Produkte. Sie sind technischer Ansprechpartner für Polarion Kunden und Interessenten und zeigen Kompetenz auch in Fragen zum Configuration Management, Subversion und anderen ALM Disziplinen.
Aufgabenbereich    
  • Erarbeiten von individuellen Kundenlösungen im Rahmen von Kriterienkatalogen und "Proof of Concepts"
  • Vorort Installation und Konfiguration der Polarion Produkte
  • Halten von Schulungen zu Polarion und Subversion
  • Erstellen von Konzepten für Consultings und Workshops
  • Erarbeiten von technischen Präsentationen und Produkt Demos
  • Durchführung von Präsentationen, Seminaren, Roadshows und Messen
