Subversion User Training (on site)

This course will give you a detailed overview how to work with Subversion and how to use the different Subversion features. It covers typical day-to-day scenarios when working in a team.

You will learn how to edit and merge files in parallel and how to lock/unlock files to serialize your work. Imagine working with non-ASCII files like MS Word or any other kind of binary files that just can’t be merged.

The course will teach you best practices for working with branches, describing how and when to use branches. You will learn how to prepare a release branch, the benefit of bug-fixing branches and how to merge a branch into another line of development. After the course you will know how to mark different stages in your project and how to identify project configurations easily using tags.

You will be familiar with the different Subversion commands, as the course is designed as a hands-on training. Your knowledge will be deepened by many different exercises to be performed on your own computer.
